My comment on the recent Supreme Court decision on plagiarism The court's majority decision says " Can errors in preparing decisions be prevented? Not until computers cease to be operated by human beings who are vulnerable to human errors. They are hypocrites who believe that the courts should be as error-free as they themselves are." While humans may err, humans cannot just blame the spreadsheet or the word processor! This is something I learned in the Math department. I cringe at the decision's consequences for academic liberty and integrity.
